Nodular cast iron castings

Up-to-date, reliable spheroidization method with usage of a core wire. Very precise control of a melting process – warranty of conformity between mechanical properties of castings with the assumed requirements. Unit castings – weight to 2000 kg and dimensions to 2000 x 1500 x 1000 mm. Serial castings moulded by machine – weight from 0,5 to 150 kg and dimensions to 700 x 700 x 400 mm.

Cast iron grades:

  • 600-3, 500-7, 400-15, 400-18L according to PN
  • GGG-60, GGG-50, GGG-40, GGG-40.3 according to DIN
  • ZsCu1,0 and other low-alloyed provided the order is not lower than 500 kg in each delivery.

Bronze castings

Our company has long-term experience in making castings of high technical requirements.

The range of production:

  • castings for marine pumps with Martime Societies acceptance
  • castings for mining pumps
  • bearing sleeves centrifugally casted
  • machine parts of different type.

The production processes are controlled and documented – the certificates for products are issued. Maximum weight of the castings is from 0,5 to 300 kg and the maximum dimensions are 1000x700x500mm.

Bronze grades:

  • B10, B102, B555, BK331, BA1032, according to PN
  • G-Cusn 10, G-CuSn5ZnPb, Rg5, Rg7 according to DIN
  • Other types provided the order is not lower than 300 kg in each delivery.

Art castings

Thanks to our high-experienced staff and indispensable technical base, our company can carry out even the most ambitious projects within the range of artistic castings and architectural ornaments from bronze and cast iron. We offer small castings such as statuettes, medals, plaques and bas-relieves, figure sculptures, monuments without limits in dimensions.

We have made more than 160 large monument castings since the Second War time. The largest one had above 600m2 and its weight was more than 70 tons. We make the castings on the basis of moulds delivered by our customers or moulds made in our company according to delivered documentation. We co-operate with wide-known sculptors and artists. We offer short delivery terms, complex services from a project to assembly on a building side as well as high quality and reasonable prices.

Machining

The technical and technological possibilities in the range of mechanical working and assembling allow us to carry out full-scale, small-scale and individual production. Our modern machinery park is universal and mobile and enables us to assure the highest quality of performance to satisfy our customers demand. The Pumps’ Department is equipped with:

  • vertical machining Centre DUGARD 1500,
  • vertical lathe-milling Centre OKUMA VTM-120YB,
  • multi-functional machining Centre MULTUS B400,
  • horizontal machining Centre HP-63P,
  • turret, engine and turning and boring lathes

Furthermore we have some auxiliary machines indispensable in manufacturing processes such as:

  • balancing machines for rotating elements (diameters up to 400 mm and elements’ weight up to 30 kg).

In addition, there is a paint shop and a welding shop within our department as well as motion and pressure testing stations for pumps and a stand for impregnation of castings .The machining and assembling possibilities ensure the highest quality of our production. The quality of our products is confirmed by acceptance of Classification Societies: PRS, GL, LR, DNV, BV, ABS. Examples of machining details:

GZUT – Foundry Ltd.

The company was separated from GZUT S.A. structure in 1995 and it has been continuing the 200-year tradition of the Gliwice Foundry. The company is equipped with induction furnaces for cast iron as well as gas-fired and induction furnaces for bronze. A moulding process is carried out by machine using bentonite masses or manually using chemo-hardening sands. The technological process and finished goods are subject to precise quality control. Chemical composition of alloys is tested by usage of spectrometer. The strength tests are carried out and certificates are issued. The Foundry has received the certificates issued by Class Societies: Lloyd, Germanischer Lloyd, Det Norske Veritas and PRS. The technological processes are carried out according to ecological principles. The company participates in International Program of Cleaner Production – CP.

The range of production:

  • grey cast iron castings of 0,5 – 1500 kg
  • spheroidal cast iron castings of 0,5 – 1000 kg
  • bronze castings of 0,3 – 600 kg
  • bronze and aluminum art castings assembled from parts – without dimension limits
  • small castings made using the lost-wax method – height up to 50 cm

Our own pattern-shop makes models and their adaptation according to the customer documentation.

GZUT S.A. in Gliwice, on Robotnicza St. has set up the Industrial Area “STARA HUTA” of its surface 144 456 m2. There are some buildings, industrial premises and not built-up area. Overhead travelling cranes

The cranes manufactured in the Department can be equipped with modern remote control systems, continuous speed regulation of all mechanisms, antiswing systems and other systems which make it possible for the cranes to operate in automated production lines.

Jib cranes

Our Plant offers post and walking jib cranes that are hand-, electric- or electric-hand driven. Theirs lifting capacity ranges from 125 kg to 5,0 t and a crane radius is up to 5,0 m.

The cranes are manufactured both on the basis of domestic-made components and components produced by the well-known world cranes companies. About Departament

The Department runs business activities within the GZUT S.A. structure. Its staff consists of 90 highly qualified employees.The organization implemented in this department enables to perform independently the following activities:

      • designing;
      • marketing and trading;
      • production;
      • service.

All manufactured equipment has received the Certificate of Permission issued by the Office of Technical Inspection (UDT). For over 55 years we have been in the market of cranes and steel structures producers and during this period we have manufactured about 23 thousand cranes and overhead travelling cranes.

Pumps Department offer

Pumps type WM and WMs – construction:

Pumps of WM and WMs type are impeller, centrifugal pumps working in “in-line” system with horizontal parting of the body. The pumps are selaed with Burgman mechanical seals. The pumps are adapted for opearting with self-suction pumps of Pa type (made in GZUT S.A.). They are driven by a 50 Hz or 60 Hz electric alternating current motor. The electric drive is transmitted by an inseparable flexible coupling.

The pumps are adapted for operating in manual or automatic control system. The construction of the pump enables its easy disassembling without motor and pipe connections dismounting. Pump parts being in contact with pumped medium are made (depending on ordered version) from cast iron (EN-GJL-250) or from aluminium bronze (CuAl10Fe5Ni5-C). An impeller and its rings are made solely from aluminium bronze. A shaft is made from stainless steel type H17N2

Pumped medium:

  • fresh water, sea water,
  • oil of viscosity up to 36,2cSt.

The maximum temperature of pumped medium:

  • up to 95°C (368 K) – fresh water and oil
  • up to 45°C (318 K) – sea water.

Application:

In shipbuilding:

  • sea and fresh water cooling systems,
  • bilge systems,
  • ballast systems,
  • fire-fighting systems.

In land execution:

  • stationary fire-fighting systems,
  • public and industrial water supply,

Advantages:

High efficiency, reliability, simple construction, small amount of components, easy to service.

Parameters:

  • capacity: Q = 25 ÷ 1000 m3/h
  • delivery head: H = 20 ÷ 120 m
  • maximum manometric suction head for clean water in temp. 200C an atmospheric pressure 760mmHg is from 5 to 7m (depending on the pump).

Vertical impeller pumps WL and WLs – construction:

Pumps of type WL and WLs are centrifugal, single-stage vertical impeller pumps driven by a 50 Hz or 60 Hz electric alternating current motor. The electric drive is transmitted by an inseparable flexible coupling. The pump body is divided along a vertical plane. The pump’s flanges are of the same diameter, located at the same height in relation to the pump base.The shaft with rolling bearings is sealed in the stuffing-box by one mechanical seal. The pump construction enables its easy disassembling without motor and pipe connections dismounting.The WL pump is not capable of sucking the liquid itself. WLs pumps are equipped in a vacuum pump Pa and can operate as self-suction pumps.

Considering the material used for the pump’s casing and stuffing-box there are two versions of pumps:

  • type M – material: grey cast iron;
  • type T – material: bronze.

Pumped medium:

    • Pumps WL and WLs are suitable to pump the following mediums: fresh water, sea water and oil of viscosity up to 5°E (36,2cSt).
    • Other liquids can be also pumped when agreed with manufacturer.

The maximum temperature of pumped medium:

      • fresh water and oil – up to 95°C (368 K),
      • sea water – up to 45°C (318 K).

Vacuum pumps Pa type – construction:

Pumps of type Pa are liquid ring, vertical impeller pumps driven by a 50 Hz or 60 Hz electric alternating current motor. The electric drive is transmitted directly (without coupling) from an engine to a pump’s shaft which whose end part is mounted on an engine shaft.The pump’s body is divided on a horizontal plane and it makes up a container with an inner system of suction and press chambers and pump connection’s holes

      • The suction hole is for the connection of the vacuum pump to the suction side of the pump system.
      • The press hole is for the draining of air and removing liquid from the pump system.

Two rubber rings seal the pump’s shaft. Pumps are manufactured in two material versions:

      • execution M – grey cast iron;
      • execution T- bronze.

Applitation:

The main function of the vacuum pump of type Pa is to create a vacuum both in the suction pipeline and the impeller pump. It causes the pumped liquid to be sucked into the impeller pump and makes normal work possible. Vacuum pumps Pa are designed to work together with horizontal and vertical impeller pumps made by GZUT Inc. They also can be used for operating with other manufacturers’ pumps but it should be agreed with GZUT Inc. The Pa pumps can operate together with impeller pumps of a capacity up to 1200 m3/h.

Dimensions:

Piston pumps TKE type – construction:

Pumps of TKE type are double-piston, double-acting vertical pumps driven by a 50 Hz or 60 Hz electric alternating current motor. The electric drive is transmitted by an inseparable flexible coupling and gear-box. The basic components:

      • pump body with two water cylinder
      • gear-box with intersecting axis gear
      • valve-box with valve-system
      • overflow device with safety-valve set on pressure which guarantee that ordered parameters are received..

Pumped medium:

fresh water, sea water and oil of viscosity up to 5°E (36,2cSt). Other liquids can be also pumped when agreed with manufacturer. The maximum temperature of the pumped medium is: 45°C (318 K)..

Application:

In shipbuilding:

      • bilge systems;
      • ballast systems;
      • fire-fighting systems.

The can be used on land as a residual pump with low pumped liquid level.

Q = 12, 19, 28 m3/h at 60 Hz

About Pumps Department

Pump Department produces and sells pumps manufactured mainly on the basis of its own designs. The department is located on Robotnicza St. within the Industrial Area of the “Old Steel Plant” carrying out its production activity in a workshop of 5.400 m2. Design and technology, production, trade and service are in the range of the Pump Department activity.

At present our staff consists of 60 qualified and experienced employees specializing in pumps’ manufacturing, mainly for the shipyard industry, heat engineering, water supply systems as well as in fire – fighting pumps. The universal machinery park and the modern technology used by our design staff enable us to perform a variety of tasks in the field of metallic branch. Due to close co-operation with the Foundry, located within the same area, we offer deliveries of high quality castings with treatment. Our department makes machine elements of grey cast iron, spheroidal irons and aluminum bronze to our customers’ order.
